People give their answer on a . The call is the decision's own ruling on it, made by the or anyone who can edit the decision. The two are kept apart: answers are evidence, and the call is what the decision does about the claim.
The three calls
Every condition starts at No call yet. Open a condition and, under "What is your call?", pick one:
- Condition is met, when you are satisfied it holds.
- Condition is at risk, when it may not hold and you go ahead knowing it.
- Condition is not applicable, when the condition does not bear on this decision.
The calls follow the answers' order and colours: met is green like Yes, at risk is red like No, not applicable is grey. Beside each call, the panel counts the answers that point to it.
Each call asks for one line of reason, and the record keeps it. For Condition is met, say what shows it holds: a fact, a document, what the people you asked said. Then press the Record button.
What helps you decide
- The answers people gave, and the documents checked against the condition, sit above the call, so the ruling comes last.
- Midfire may mark one call as suggested, from those answers and the evidence. It is never applied for you, and nothing is recorded until you press Record.
- On a with a hearing, the hearing's answers suggest a call once every attack on that condition has been answered.
Attach a tripwire
Any call can carry a : a signal that would make you revisit the decision. Use Attach a tripwire, write what to watch for, and it is saved with the call.
Change your mind
A recorded call shows its reason and date, with an undo link while the decision is a draft. Undoing a call removes the tripwire it brought with it.
Before you commit
The commit asks about every critical condition still at No call yet. It warns rather than blocks, so the choice to proceed stays yours.
