A document you already have is often the fastest way to settle a . Midfire reads it against that one condition and tells you whether it speaks to it, quoting the passage it relied on.
Check one
- Open the condition and choose your answer.
- Press + Check a document against this, then pick the file.
- Press Check document. The result appears under your answer before you record it.
You can check PDF, Word, Excel, text, Markdown, CSV and JSON files of up to 4 MB. Export a PowerPoint deck or an old .doc file as a PDF first. When a file is too large, export just the pages or the sheet you need.
What the result says
Each check returns one verdict, with the quote behind it:
- the document supports this condition;
- it goes against this condition;
- it touches on it without settling it;
- it says nothing about this condition.
Then record your answer as usual. The check informs your answer and never chooses it for you.
What Midfire keeps
- The file is read once and discarded. Midfire never stores your document.
- It keeps a receipt with the verdict, the quoted passage, the file name, a fingerprint of the file and the date.
- The document is never shared. People who can read your answer see the receipt, and the file stays with you.
- A completed check stays on the record even if you cancel your answer.
Good to know
- Each person can check 3 documents per condition, and the panel shows how many you have left. A condition that needs more is often trying to say two things at once.
- When documents from different people point opposite ways, the condition reads as contested, and the sees both receipts before making the call.
