FrameAlternativesConditionsPremortemHearingCommitmentExecutionReviewDashed: big bet only
A is a claim your decision rests on, worded so that someone can say whether it holds. The Conditions section is where they live, path by path.
Generate them
Once the frame and the paths read right, press Generate conditions. One run drafts two kinds of claim for every path, the status quo included:
- Must be true, for what has to hold for the path to work.
- Must not fail, for what would sink the path, drafted by imagining it has already failed. A gets up to five per path, an everyday decision up to three.
A claim can belong to both kinds on a path, and then it is asked once. Your plan counts a decision when its conditions are first generated.
Read them by path
- The heading reads "Conditions for" the path you are viewing. Pick another path from it to see that path's conditions.
- Each condition has a criticality for that path: critical, major or minor. A critical condition flips the call if it turns out false, a major one changes its terms, a minor one changes neither. The same claim can be critical for one path and minor for another.
- The condition overview at the top crosses criticality with the call made on each condition. A critical condition ruled at risk is a load-bearing claim you are going ahead without, so it stands out.
- It always shows all three rows, critical, major and minor, even when one is empty. The list of conditions below it follows your condition detail setting in Drafting.
Add and reword
- Use + Add a condition to write one the draft missed, then Add and ground it.
- Reword a claim when it is unclear. People who answered the earlier wording are shown as having answered it, so you can ask them again.
What happens next
People you ask give their answer on each condition, and documents can be checked against them. The then makes the call on each one. See the call on a condition and checking a document.
