See who is involved in a decision

In shortThe People section lists who is on a decision, what each was asked and has given, coverage by condition, and once committed, its brief.

People sits near the top of a decision's sections. It answers three questions in one place: who is on this decision, who has done what, and who is still expected to do something.

Who's involved

One row per person, with what they were asked, what they have contributed so far, and when they last took part.

  • The sees every row in full, including whether each email went out.
  • Everyone else sees their own asks and contributions in full, and the others in outline.
  • People who were invited and have not joined yet appear here too, for the people who can edit the decision.
  • A person whose access ended stays on the list, so the record still shows what they gave.

When you have an ask of your own, the section offers "Open your task". On a draft you can edit, "Add people or ask for input" opens Share. See Ask people for input. Once a decision is committed, it takes no new input, so the button goes and Publication takes its place.

Coverage

Coverage lays the of one path across the top and the people down the side. Each cell shows that person's answer, so gaps stand out: a critical condition nobody has weighed is easy to spot. Switch the path to see the others, and narrow the view to critical conditions when the list is long.

You see other people's answers on a condition once you have given your own.

Publication

A committed decision has a third view, Publication: whether its brief is published, to whom, and since when.

  • Everyone on the decision sees the state, and can read the brief if it was published to them.
  • Someone who can edit the decision publishes the brief, or a revised one, from here.
  • Withdraw the published brief takes it away from every reader at once, and they see that it was withdrawn. The working record is unchanged.

When names are hidden

The decision maker can choose, in Decision settings, to hide ' names from each other. Contributors then see each other as letters, and the decision maker still sees whose answer is whose. This choice is fixed once anyone has answered, so the arrangement people answered under stays the same.
