Hand a decision to another decision maker

In shortWhoever creates a decision makes the call by default; hand it over from People to someone who can edit it.

Every decision has one . By default it is the person who created it. The decision maker makes the call on each , sees everyone's answers, and is the one who can hand the decision on.

Hand over a decision in progress

  • Open People and find the person in Who's involved.
  • They need the Can edit permission on the decision. Give it first through Share if they do not have it yet.
  • Choose "Make decision maker" on their row, add a short reason if you like, and confirm.

They become the decision maker and receive an email. You keep your access to the decision, and the reason you gave is kept in its activity.

Hand over the follow-through

After a decision is committed, the person who made the call stays on the record. What can move is the follow-through: the review reminders and the duty to see it through.

  • Choose "Hand over follow-through" on the row of someone with Can edit.
  • They get the review reminders, see everyone's answers, and can hand it on again.
  • The record still names you as the person who made the call, and you keep your access.

When someone leaves the workspace

Before an admin removes a member, Midfire asks who takes over each decision that person was following through. If a decision ever ends up with nobody following it through, its People section says so, and an admin can assign someone who has an editor seat. The new person is emailed.
