Share is how you bring people into a decision in progress. It opens once the decision has its , because that is what people are asked to weigh.
Add people
- Open Share from the decision's toolbar, or use "Add people or ask for input" in People.
- Type a name or an email address. You can paste several addresses at once.
- Give each person a permission, Can view, Can contribute or Can edit.
- Someone who is not yet in the workspace receives an invitation. Only a workspace admin can invite new members.
Adding someone gives them access and nothing else. It assigns no role on the decision and asks them for nothing, so you can bring in a reader without waiting on them.
Ask for their view
On a decision in progress, tick "Request input: conditions and ". Then choose what they assess:
- One path, when a person knows one option best.
- All paths, the default for a general ask.
- A selection, when you want their eyes on a few conditions. They can still answer the others.
You can narrow any of these to critical conditions only. A message and the date you hope to decide by are both optional. The date belongs to the decision, so everyone on it sees the same one.
What they receive
The email names the decision, what is needed and roughly how long it takes. When the premortem is part of the ask, it comes first, so their causes are their own. The email also says that their name and the time go on the record with whatever they answer.
Follow the asks
People lists who was asked, what for, and whether the email went out. From there you can retry an email, change a permission or end someone's access. Their contributions stay on the record. See the People section.
