When a colleague asks for your view, the email opens your task on the decision. You can read its Frame and Alternatives for context, then give your input.
The premortem comes first
When the ask includes it, you start by imagining that the plan has already failed and naming why, one reason per line. Other people's causes for that plan stay hidden until yours are in, so what you write is yours alone.
- Use "No additional causes identified" when nothing comes to mind. That is an answer, and it goes on the record.
- You can skip this step and go straight to the .
Answer each condition
Each condition is a claim the decision rests on, and each asks the same question: is this true? Choose the answer that is true for you.
- Yes, when you believe it is true.
- No, when you don't think it holds, or think it is at risk. This is the cheapest place to say so.
- I don't know, when you understand the claim and cannot tell. Nothing is held against it.
- Something's off, when the claim itself is the problem. It then asks you to pick Not applicable or Worded wrong.
A note is optional on every answer except Worded wrong, where one line saying what the claim should say is the whole point. Press "Record my position" to save it. You can also check a document against a condition: the file is read and discarded, and only the finding, the file name and a fingerprint are kept.
See what others said
Other answers on a condition open once you have given your own, so nobody's answer anchors yours. Your answers carry your name and the time.
Come back later
You can skip any condition and return to it. "Done for now" closes the task, and your open asks wait for you under Needs me in your inbox.
